Small selection of vinyl records from the period of 1981-1989
Vinyl record compilation was undertaken at a time when people are about to edge the dangers of computer revolution and developing world full of pending boredom. A record company executive asked me if it would be all right for the company to begin selling a product called the Quintette which creates the effect of hearing sounds through headphones. We decided to do it since the product has been in testing for a while now and we had decided to market it to music buyers. So we forged ahead and published our first set of Quintette tape cartridges in 1982. The first product of this kind sold more than we expected and we released another one in 1985. Since then, we have been in production of a wide range of cassette tapes and CD’s and have accumulated a huge line of formats.
Vinyl LP’s and Vinyl Rhythm & Blues (R&B)
In the period from the late 1950’s to the end of the 1980’s, the American music industry was obsessed with the idea of the so-called ” illiteracy” of our young people. Remember those terribly explicit, musty old music videos of Buckethead that pained our Feelings on the whole? Well, that was the age of vinyl. R&B was considered an art form and in many ways it was. I, for one, still have a collection of about twenty records that are mostly old R&B (some from the late pin-up stage, and some actual recordings) and honestly, some of them have not seen the light of the day.
Many of us that were teenagers in the 60’s and 70’s, were stuck having those lifeless record players to listen to the day’s “music”. OK, there were The Beatles and The Rolling Stones and maybe The Mamas and the Papas but what about the bluesy sounds of Leadbelly or the dirty delta sound of Little Willie Little? Well, we heard it all and more. หนังคมชัด Vinyl really sounded and felt great.
The music became sex. It moved us and at times even comforted us. I still consider a vinyl record at the end of a long day a true joy.
My first encounter with vinyl records was an experiences like this. In 2001 I was in Chicago. สาวไซด์ไลน์ I took some pictures and Iumbled something up on my camera. I was going out to buy some pictures to frame. I found a blank sheet and decided it would be fun to make some pictures plus, it just looked cool. I showed my drawings to a guy, let him have a go at it, after a few tries. I was amazed that he could actually turn my drawings into a self-made LP cover.
Three months later I was going out to lunch and I heard a song that I recognized. It was a song that was played many times during that year. I played it off of cassette and it was weird how good it sounded on vinyl, more so than many of the lip-sync records that were around at the time. It was a brand new sound for me. หนังพากย์ไทย I would eventually find out that this guy who thought up and made this had his own studio and record label and everything, so he must have known what he was doing. A cassette went out and a fan from the music world showed up at the spot with a cassette and a camera. We started a conversation and then he asked me if I wanted to buy some vinyl. ควยใหญ่หีบาน I said “Yes, I love vinyl, what else can you teach me about the craft?” The guy showed me his little black pedestal standing on the side of his booth.
“Do you have more of those little stickers?” he said, with a smile. I thanked him and then we both went back to eating at In-N-Out.
Why did you decide to buy vinyl instead of digital?
Well I’m old, in my fifties, and have a lot of records. When the CD took over, they didn’t have the storage space, the money and the frankly educational approach to teaching that vinyl had. You could pick up a record and educate yourself easily and cheaply on the intricacies of the songs. You could take a vinyl record apart which provided you with a whole new skill set that in turn gave you a whole new approach to learning music. Today young people say that they enjoy “digital” music. I ask them to show me a chart and I find that with the exception of iTunes most of the charts are still based on themicrowave or 8-track record. สาวสวยหีใหญ่ I ask them to show me 10 charts from the last 10 years and I find that chart has hardly changed at all.
So I’m trying to get the last true knowledge from the pioneers of Chart Music.
